Separate clashes between insurgents and joint Afghan and coalition forces left three foreign soldiers, six Afghan Army forces and over two dozen rebels killed, DPA quoted officials as saying Tuesday. Fifteen Taliban fighters were killed Monday in renewed fighting in the Musa Kala region, a militant stronghold in Helmand province in the south of the country, the coalition said. Its soldiers seized or destroyed weapons, items for making booby traps and propoganda material, it said. Seven militants were killed in fighting in neighbouring Kandahar province. The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) reported that a three of its soldiers and two Afghan security force members were killed Monday in the eastern province of Kunar. Official Afghan reports said that four Afghan troops and one police officer were killed in attacks in the south and east of the country. Seven Afghan and three coalition soldiers were also injured, it said. Another four Afghan soldiers were killed and three were wounded in a roadside bomb in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, the Defence Ministry said in a statement. One Afghan policeman was killed and two were wounded in another roadside bomb blast in Zherai district of southern Kandahar province on Monday evening, provincial police chief Sayed Agha Saqib said.
