Ambassador Ahmad Abdul Rahman Al-Jarman presented his credentials, as the Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates at United Nations, to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The presentation ceremony held at the UN headquarters here, was attended by a number of senior officials at the United Nations and members of UAE's diplomatic mission at UN. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon welcomed Al-Jarman, who becomes UAE's sixth Permanent Representative since the country joined the world Organization in 1971, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM." Ban Ki-moon wished Al-Jarman all success in his political mission. He also wished UAE continued progress and prosperity. On his side, Al-Jarman reiterated UAE's commitment to the goals of the United Nations and its adherence to the principles of UN conventions. He also underlined UAE's commitment to the implementation of legitimate international resolutions, and cooperation with all the UN activities, especially those that serve the cause of regional and international security, peace and stability, strengthening the role of the Organization at the world level. A Law graduate from Cairo University, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al- Jarman joined Foreign Ministry in 1975 and held several key posts including that of Assistant Undersecretary for Specialized Affairs.
