Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the head of the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the 66th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, met here yesterday, on the sidelines of the session, with the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon. A spokesman of the UN Secretary General said that Prince Saud Al-Faisal and Ban Ki-moon exchanged views on important issues in the region including Yemen. In a statement issued yesterday, Ban Ki-moon called on all Yemeni parties to exercise restraint and to stop provocative actions, condemning the excessive use of force by government security forces. He also called on all Yemeni parties to communicate with UN Representative Jamal Bin Omar, who is currently present in Sana'a and working with the Cooperation Council for The Arab States of The Gulf (GCC) and other international partners to reach a peaceful solution to the political crisis in Yemen.
