A large-scale crane collapsed at a shipbuilding factory in central Japan's port city of Kobe on Saturday morning, killing three and injuring at least four others, Kyodo News reported. The 9:45 a. m. (local time) accident happened in the Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corp. factory in an industrial district of the city when about 10 workers were repairing the crane, local officials were quoted as saying. According to initial investigations, the crane collapsed after its shaft broke due to high hydraulic pressure to move it. Seven people fell from around 15 meters above ground. Police said they suspected professional negligence.
