The Dutch police on Wednesday freed a 16-year old Slovak girl who had been abducted from her parental home in Slovakia two months ago, reported the DPA. Following her liberation, the police searched several homes and arrested five people, one of whom was a 21-year old man, a police spokesman told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa on Wednesday. It is not known whether the girl knew her abductors prior to her kidnapping, the spokesperson said. An investigation has been launched. The girl was freed after managing to contact her family a few days ago. The family immediately drove from Slovakia to the trailer park in Veghel, in the southern Netherlands, where she had apparently been held for the past two months. Four relatives were taken hostage for a short while by the alleged abductors while trying to liberate the girl overnight Wednesday. The relatives succeeded in freeing themselves. They contacted the police, adding they had been threatened with guns by the girl's alleged abductors. The police freed the girl Wednesday afternoon and said that she appeared to be in good health.
