The Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding on bilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia which was signed in Riyadh on November 11, 2006. Based on the economic resolutions of the GCC summit held in Jeddah on 9 - 10 December 2006, the Cabinet decided to allow the citizens of the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council to practice insurance, transport and real estate services, and endorsed the resolution issued by the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee in a meeting held in Jeddah on 13/10/1427 H. to exempt equipment used in surgical incisions from customs fees. The Cabinet approved the organization of the newly-established Saudi Non-oil Exports Development Commission which replaced the International Exhibitions and Markets and Exports Development Administration, the former affiliate of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The Cabinet reviewed a follow-up report submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning on the progress of work regarding implementing the projects of the Ministry of Higher Education which were financed by state budget surplus in the fiscal year 1425 - 1426 H. These are nine projects distributed as follows: Riyadh (2), Hail (2), Jazan (2) Al-Baha (1) and Al-Joaf (1) in addition to one project for designing and supervising those projects. To this effect, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has instructed that their implementation and follow-up be speedy. The Cabinet approved the appointment of Eng. Fahd bin Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Miqren as Computer Consultant at the Ministry of Interior and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Shawi as Director General of the Eastern Region branch of the Control and Investigation Commission.
