The Amman-based The Arab High Commission for Palestine denounced today the closure of the Abraham Mosque in Hebron by the Israeli Forces and preventing Muslims from praying in the Mosque. A statement issued by the Commission in Amman earlier today said the Abraham Mosque is an Islamic Waqf (endowments), adding that all current Israeli procedures and actions undertaken against the mosque including the recent closure of the Mosque to stop Muslims from praying in the Mosque are "illegal and these actions are meant to Judaize the entire old city of Hebron and seize entirely the Islamic Mosque as well as prevent Muslims from praying there." The statement appealed to citizens in Hebron to come out in large numbers towards the Mosque to perform prayer. The Commission also demanded all traders and merchants to return to the old markets and reopen their shops, emphasizing the need for citizens to shop and purchase their commodities from the Old City of Hebron.
