The Organisation of Asia Pacific News Agencies (OANA), currently led by Bernama, is organising a media workshop on sustainable forest management in Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday. The General Manager of the Malaysian news agency "Bernama" and OANA's Secretary-General Datuk Azman Ujang said sustainable forest management is gaining ground in Asia-Pacific with most of the countries having developed well-defined policies and innovative tools for sustainable forestry. Just a few days ago, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi reiterated Malaysia's commitment to sustainable forest management," he said here Sunday as the participants from OANA member agencies began to arrive for the workshop. The workshop, to be opened by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, will highlight initiatives, policies and practices in the management of forests and its resources in the country, Bernama reported. --MORE
