Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Taro Aso arrived here today on a one-day visit to Jordan as part of the Middle East tour that will take him also to the Palestinian authority and Israel. During his visit to Amman, Aso will hold talks with Jordanian Prime Minister Marouf Al-Bakhit and Foreign Minister Abdelelah Al-Khatib. Aso's meeting with his Jordanian counterpart will be followed by a press conference on the Japanese efforts to move ahead the Mid-east peace process. The Japanese Foreign Minister will also ink an agreement with United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to provide food assistance to the Palestinians.
