One person was killed and two were injured in an explosion late Saturday in a petrochemical plant in Siberia, Russian civil defence officials disclosed Sunday, according to DPA. The officials said tests were being conducted of a compressor station at the plant in the city of Tomsk when gas escaped and exploded, the Interfax agency reported. The plant belongs to the Tomskneftechim company, which by its own account is the market leader in Russia's oil processing industry.
