A 4-member high level Chilean delegation has met Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Amanullah Jadoon and briefed him about the progress on Rekodiq Copper Project in Chagai (Balochistan) involving $ 2 billion investment, said an official statement. President of Chilean Anto Fergasto Copper Company Marcelo Awad headed the delegation. Welcoming the delegation, the Minister said that the government was talking concrete steps for the exploration of huge deposits of copper, coal and other precious metals of the country so that mineral sector could play a significant role for the stability of natural economy. Jadoon said that like huge deposits of copper, there existed 185 billion tones of coal reserves in Pakistan and invited the Chilean companies to invest in coal mining, gasification and coal power generation for the mutual advantage. He said that the government would provide all basic infrastructure to the prospective investors for carrying out the mineral projects. Marcelo Awad expressed gratitude to the Minister and government of Balochistan for extending full cooperation to carrying out the Reko Diq copper project.
