Fierce clashes Thursday morning between the armed wing of the radical Islamic Jihad movement and the Hamas Executive Force left two Palestinians dead and several more wounded, medical officials and witnesses said, according to DPA. The gunfight broke out near a mosque in the Zeitoon neighbourhood in southern Gaza City, when Hamas militants stormed the structure and clashed with Islamic Jihad gunmen. One of Thursday's fatalities was identified as a member of the Fatah movement, the other was an Islamic Jihad activist. The deaths bring to three the number of people killed in internecine clashes in the Strip in the past 12 hours.
