Pakistan's Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and British Foreign Secretary David Miliband discussed a host of issues including the anti-terror war on Thursday, said an official statement here last night. Aziz said Britain and Pakistan maintain historically strong ties and are important trading partners. He said continuing high-level exchanges between the two countries have contributed to the strengthening of these relations. He appreciated the continued interest of private investors from the UK who have taken up opportunities afforded by Pakistan's growing economy and liberal economic policies. The prime minister praised the UK Government's economic assistance to Pakistan in earthquake recovery, health and education. He made special mention of the vital role of the Pakistani community in the UK, which has made valuable contributions to enhancing the relationship between the two nations. --MORE
