Pakistan and China agreed to enhance collaboration in field of traditional medicine and benefit from each other s expertise and experience in the area. The agreement was reached at a meeting between Vice Health Minister of China Wang Guoqiang and Pakistan s Health Minister Mohammed Nasir Khan, according to an official statement. Establishment of a University of Traditional Medicine in Pakistan with Chinese support was also discussed. The two sides agreed to designate focal points in the health ministries of both the countries to augment co operation in the health sector. The Chinese delegation expressed interest in investing in the pharmaceutical sector in Pakistan and also collaborating in production of vaccines for prevention of deadly diseases of children. Khan said Pakistan and China share time -tested friendship and there is a need to translate the excellent collaboration into concrete programmes for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries. He expressed profound gratitude to the Chinese Government for providing anti-malaria drugs for the flood affectees. Wang Guoqiang expressed sympathy for those affected by the massive floods in parts of Pakistan and pledged all out support on behalf of his government.
