The General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs has undertaken the implementation of various projects for the comfort and safety of the visitors, said Dr. Mohammed Nasir Al-Khuzayyem, the Deputy President of Two Holy Mosques Affairs. In a report published today, the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette said Al-Khuzayyem provided details of these projects by disclosing that more electronic escalators are being built around the Holy Mosque of Makkah to facilitate the entry of visitors to the first floor and the terrace. These escalators will be operated in the holy Month of Ramadan, the peak season. This year, more than three million pilgrims are expected to perform Salah (Prayer) and Hajj and Umrah rituals in the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah. In order to maintain Hygiene, a factory has been built to clean 25,000 water coolers and sterilize the plastic glasses to eliminate the possibility of contaminations. More than 3,000 workers are on duty around the clock to clean the basement, the ground floor, the first floor and the terrace. The expansion of the area between As-Safa and Marwah ( Mas'aa) is expected to be completed soon along with extra bridges to provide easy movement to the visitors of the House of Allah. --More
