With the start of the summer season and school vacations in the Gulf, thousands of people will be coming to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. In order to facilitate the visitors who will be coming by land, air, and sea, the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques has arranged for additional facilities and services at the Holy Mosque in Makkah. Dr. Muhammad Nasir Al-Khuzayyam, the Assistant Chief of the Presidency, said the basement of the Holy Mosque has been opened, water coolers had been installed in the basement of the Holy Mosque; the air conditioning system had been upgraded; and the entire area had been newly carpeted. Attendants work around the clock to clean the floors and to supply Zamzam in water coolers and plastic glasses. The Presidency has also arranged lectures in various languages to inform visitors about the rites of Umrah. After Fajr prayers and after Maghrib, lectures are given on the way to circumambulate the Kaaba, and how to perform Sa'y between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. An intercom system is available for visitors to inquire about any problems with regard to prayers or the performance of Umrah rites. If they commit any major mistakes, they are given instructions on how to correct them. The Presidency has also published pamphlets containing instructions for the performance of Umrah explaining the rites and the correct behavior. The Holy Mosque has five medical dispensaries within its premises for the immediate treatment of patients, with heatstroke cases being referred to Al-Jiad Hospital near the Holy Mosque. __
