A train engineer was killed and another was seriously injured Saturday after an express train crashed into a local train standing stationary at a railway station south-east of Prague, according to dpa. Media reports said the killed train driver happened to be in the front car of the empty local train when the fast train smashed into it, lifting it up onto the oncoming engine's roof and into the power lines. Several passengers on the express train sustained slight injuries and rail traffic in the area was disrupted. Authorities began an investigation into the cause of the accident, media reports said.
