A suicide bomber killed at least eight Pakistan Army soldiers Saturday, when he hit his explosives laden car with a military convoy in Pakistan's tribal area near the Afghan border, officials said. Eight soldiers embraced martyrdom and twenty others were injured in the suicide bombing, Pakistan military spokesman Maj-Gen Waheed Arshad said. He said two vehicles of the convoy were also damaged in the attack that took place in a remote area of North Waziristan. More than 80,000 Pakistan army troops are deployed in the tribal area to curb terrorists. Arshad said initially it was feared that thirteen soldiers were killed but it has now been confirmed that eight died in the bombing.
