Rescue workers on Friday evacuated eight more "Wahai Star" shipwreck victims, two already dead, in Manipa and Buano waters, Western Seram (SBB) district. "Another dead victim, identified as Rosiana, was buried in Manipa island so that her body was not evacuated," ANTARA quoted Search Mission coordinator Lt Col Efendi as saying here today. He said the bodies of the two dead victims - identified as Bily Solissa (25) and Sally Teslatu (19)-- were evacuated to "Cantika Indah" ship. Efendi said the Search and Rescue Team mobilized six boats and a Nomad aircraft belonging to the navy. But the search mission was still being hindered by rough seas and bad weather. "The team has up to Friday noon found 45 victims, of whom five were dead," Efendy said. The Wahai Star serving the Buru Island-Ambon route, Maluku Province, sank in the Maluku Sea in the wee hours of Wednesday (July 11) at around 2 am local time due to engine failure. Information about the fate of the survivors was received from the skipper of state oil company Pertamani`s MT Minas tanker which managed to evacuate around 29 passengers to Ambon, Benny Gaspersz, Maluku`s provincial transportation office head said on Thursday.
