KING ABDULLAH II OF JORDAN HAS DESCRIBED THE SAUDI-JORDANIAN RELATIONS AS "STRATEGIC TIES". IN A STATEMENT TO AMMAN-BASED "AL-GHAD" NEWSPAPER, THE JORDANIAN MONARCH EXPRESSED SATISFACTION OVER THE EXISTING SAUDI-JORDANIAN RELATIONS. HE NOTED THAT THE VISIT OF THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ TO JORDAN WAS A "SUCCESSFUL ONE". "WE DISCUSSED THE PALESTINIAN ISSUE AS WELL AS THE SITUATION IN IRAQ AND LEBANON, AND OUR VIEWS WERE IDENTICAL TO A GREAT EXTENT," HE SAID. HE POINTED OUT THAT BOTH SAUDI ARABIA AND JORDAN DON'T TOLERATE REGIONAL INTERVENTIONS IN THESE CAUSES. KING ABDULLAH II PRAISED THE SUPPORT EXTENDED BY RIYADH TO AMMAN.
