In a move to develop a more competitive dairy farming industry in Malaysia, the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry plans to send dairy farming entrepreneurs to Holland to learn the technology and management of the industry from the Dutch entrepreneurs. The Ministry's secretary-general Dr Zulkifli Idris said local entrepreneurs could learn the latest techniques and technology from their counterparts in Holland who had proven their mettle in the industry at the international stage. "In the past, we sent officers to learn the technology and the management techniques adopted by the Dutch dairy farmers. Now, it is time for entrepreneurs engaged in the dairy farming industry to be sent there. "For a start, we intend to send at least two successful dairy farming entrepreneurs to Holland," he told reporters after accompanying Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on a visit to a dairy farm at Laan van Pluymestein, near here, on Friday. Muhyiddin is here on a two-day visit to forge co-operation in the agriculture industry between Malaysia and Holland, the Malaysian news agency "Bernama" reported.
