Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov will make a three-day visit to Malaysia beginning Sunday. A spokesman of the Uzbekistan embassy here told Bernama Saturday that Karimov, who is due to arrive at the KL International Airport tomorrow night, will be received by Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Muhyiddin On Tuesday, the Uzbekistan head of state, will be given an official welcome in a ceremony at Parliament square attended by the Malaysian King Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail. Karimov will then hold a closed door meeting with Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi before witnessing the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries. Among others, the memoranda would cover air service, tourism, joint trade and natural resources. On Wednesday, the Uzbekistan head of state would meet former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Senate speaker Dr Abdul Hamid Pawanteh before having an audience with the King.
