VICE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES CHAIRS CABINET'S SESSION
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 18 - 06 - 2007

THE VICE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES PRINCE SULTAN BIN ABDULAZIZ AL SAUD CHAIRED THE CABINET SESSION HELD HERE TODAY.
AT THE OUTSET OF THE SESSION, PRINCE SULTAN BRIEFED THE COUNCIL ON THE CONSULTATIONS, CONTACTS AND MEETINGS HELD DURING THE PAST DAYS AND DEALT WITH BILATERAL RELATIONS AND THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS AT ARAB AND REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVELS.
IN A STATEMENT TO THE SAUDI PRESS AGENCY (SPA) FOLLOWING THE SESSION, THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND DEPUTY MINISTER OF CULTURE AND INFORMATION DR. JOBARAH BIN EID AL-SURAYSIRI SAID THAT THE CABINET EXPRESSED DEEP DISTRESS AT THE FIGHTING AND SQABBLE TAKING PLACE IN THE PALESTINIAN LAND BETWEEN FATAH AND HAMAS MOVEMENTS, A NEGATIVE MOVE HARMING THE PALESTINIAN STRUGGLE AND PEOPLE AND CAUSE WHICH EACH PAYS ITS PRICE AT A DIFFERENT LEVEL.
AL-SURAYSARI STATED THAT THE CABINET APPEALED TO THE PALESTINIAN LEADERS TO FULFILL THE PROMISE WHICH THEY COMMITTED BEFORE THE KAABA AND SWORE TO UNITE AND NOT FIGHT, STRESSING THAT THIS PROMISE CALLS FOR AN IMMEDIATE CESSATION OF ALL ONGOING BRUTAL KILLINGS AS WELL AS FORBIDDING THE PALESTINIAN BLOOD AND RETURN TO DIALOGUE AND UNDERSTANDING TO SOLVE DIFFERENCES.
"THE CABINET STRESSED THAT THE PALESTINIAN BROTHERS MUST REALIZE THAT THIS CONFLICT WILL ONLY LEAD TO THE DEMOLITION OF THE BASES OF THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE AND THAT THE HISTORY OF THE PALESTINIAN STRUGGLE HAS BEEN MARRED BY THE CURRENT EVENTS BETWEEN THEM," AL-SURAYSARI SAID.
AL-SURAYSARI ALSO SAID THAT THE CABINET DEPLORED AND CONDEMNED THE CRIMINAL BOMBING WHICH TOOK PLACE IN BEIRUT LAST WEDNESDAY AND LED TO THE DEATH OF LEBANESE MP WALID EIDO AND MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE AND URGED ALL LEBANESE TO STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER IN THE FACE OF ANYONE WHO WANTED TO HARM LEBANON, ITS UNITY, STABILITY AND SECURITY.
AS REGARDS IRAQ, THE CABINET REITERATED THAT THE GRAVE REPERCUSSIONS AND THE CONTINUITY OF TERRORIST ACTS IN IRAQ WHICH CLAIMED THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE AND HARMED MOSQUES WILL LEAD TO RAISING DISUNITY AMONG ITS CITIZENS, POINTING OUT THAT THE RESPONSIBILITY TO ADDRESS THOSE ACTS REQUIRES JOINT WORK FROM ALL IRAQI OFFICIAL AND POPULAR INSTITUTIONS.
