UNDERSECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND INFORMATION FOR INFORMATION AFFAIRS DR ABDULLAH AL-JASSER, HAS CRITICIZED THE MARCH OF THE ARAB MEDIA. IN A STATEMENT HERE TODAY, DR AL-JASSER, WHO IS LEADING THE SAUDI DELEGATION TO THE MEETINGS OF THE 80 THE SESSION OF THE STANDING ARAB INFORMATION COMMITTEE, SAID THE MARCH OF THE ARAB MEDIA IS CHARACTERIZED BY SLOWNESS. HE NOTED THAT SO MANY DECISIONS ADOPTED BY THE ARAB INFORMATION MINISTERS WERE NOT IMPLEMENTED. DR AL-JASSER CALLED FOR TAKING PRACTICAL MEASURES FOR ACTIVATING THE JOINT ARAB INFORMATION WORK. HE HOPED THAT THE ARAB CULTURE AND INFORMATION MINISTERS WOULD STUDY THE POSSIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A SECRETARIAT GENERAL FOR THE COUNCIL OF THE ARAB INFORMATION MINISTERS. HE SAID THE PROPOSED SECRETARIAT GENERAL WOULD POSITIVELY CONTRIBUTE TO ENHANCING COOPERATION AND COORDINATION AMONG THE ARAB MEDIA ORGANS.
