The Investment Committee of the Donor countries and the hosting Arab Countries of the displaced Palestinian people, started a meeting in a resort area adjoining the Dead Sea. The Hosting Arab Countries of Palestinian refugees namely Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine reiterated the importance of the continued provision of educational, medical and catering services by UNRWA for 4 Million Palestinian refugees. The heads of the Arab delegations requested the Donor countries to increase their contributions in the UNRWA- the United Nations Relief and Work Agency for Palestine refugees in the Near East- to guarantee acceptable level of required services that UNRWA provides in the places and countries where refugees have opted for settlement.
