Delegates attending the Kuala Lumpur-OIC Health Ministerial Conference 2007 visited Putrajaya Hospital Friday for an insight into the health and medical facilities available in Malaysia, Bernama news agency reported. The delegates, including eight health ministers from the participating countries, toured the hospital for about an hour during which they were also briefed on health and medical services in Malaysia by the director- general of Health Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican. The health ministers included Radwan S.S. Alakhras from Palestine; Ilyas Ibrahim from the Maldives, Kuwait's Dr Maasoumah Saleh Al-Mubarak and Dr Maher Al Housami from Syria. The conference , which ended Friday, was opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi yesterday. Meanwhile, Dr Mohd Ismail, in his briefing said the Malaysian government continued to strive to provide a comprehensive health service which met international standards for the people.
