King Abdullah II of Jordan on Thursday called Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and urged taking all steps that ensure an "immediate" halt for Palestinian bloodshed, the royal court said, according to dpa. "The monarch called for taking all measures that ensure an immediate halt to Palestinian bloodshed and letting dialogue to prevail with a view to preserving the unity of the Palestinian people," a court statement said. The king warned that the continuation of fighting between Abbas' Fatah movement and the radical Hamas group "will have dangerous repercussions on the future of the Palestinian question".
