A car bomb blast rocked a Beirut seaside area Wednesday killing at least eight people, including anti-Syrian MP Walid Eddo, his son and two bodyguards, a police source told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa. "The body of Eddo, his son Khaled and two bodyguards were collected from the scene," he told dpa. Eddo is a member of the Future Current bloc headed by Saad Hariri, son of assassinated former premier Rafik Hariri. Police at the scene told dpa that besides Eddo, his son and two bodyguards, four other bodies were transferred to nearby hospitals. "A number of people with serious and medium injuries were also transferred from the scene," a Red Cross volunteer told dpa. Flesh remains were clearly seen near the car of Eddo, as police and civil defence volunteers kept reporters away from the scene to make the way clear for the ambulances.
