Egypt's trade with Arab states rises 195.2 percent

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the other Arab states rose by 195.2 percent between 2000-2006 to reach an amount of $6.2 billion compared to $2 billion in 2000, according to a latest report released by the Egyptian Ministry of Commerce.
The report said that five Arab states accounted for 71.5 percent of the trade exchange with Cairo, adding that these included the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Algeria, Syria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The report said Saudi Arabia tops these countries as its trade exchange with Cairo accounted for 28.3 percent of the total trade turnover with all Arab states.
