THE ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK (IDB) AND THE SENEGALESE GOVERNMENT SIGNED HERE TODAY AN AGREEMENT ON THE SELECTION OF DAKAR CITY AS THE BANK'S REGIONAL HEADQUARTERS. THE AGREEMENT WHICH CAME ON THE SIDELINES OF THE MEETINGS OF THE BANK'S COUNCIL OF GOVERNORS WAS SIGNED BY DR AHMED MOHAMMED ALI, IDB'S PRESIDENT, AND SENEGALESE FOREIGN MINISTER TEJAN GADIOU. DR. ALI SAID THE AGREEMENT AIMS TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL PROGRESS IN MEMBER STATES AND RURAL ISLAMIC SOCIETIES IN THE WORLD.
