India and China may soon hold their first-ever joint military exercise which would be an anti-terrorism manoeuvre, Indian Army chief General JJ Singh said Saturday. Singh said he would be discussing the proposal with Chinese officials during his week-long visit to China beginning Sunday as head of a combined delegation of the Indian army, navy and air force, dpa quoted PTI news agency as reporting. "In principle, the Chinese have agreed to holding of such an exercise," Singh said. "But during the visit, we hope to work out the details and whether such a first-ever exercise would be held on Chinese or Indian soil". The Indian and Chinese armies which have held border meetings over the past few years but have never held a joint exercise. Both countries have posts along a 3000-kilometre, largely unmarked, border.
