Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D Alema arrives in Islamabad on Monday (May 21) on a two-day visit to Pakistan to hold talks with Pakistani leaders on war on terror and the latest situation in Afghanistan, officials said. Massimo D Alema will meet President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz besides, holding formal talks with his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Kasuri on various global and bilateral issues including war against terrorism at the top of agenda. During the two-day talks, Pakistan and Italy will discuss ways to enhance bilateral ties including trade and commercial relations. Officials said the two sides would also discuss Indo-Pak peace process, the Middle East situation as well as US-Iran nuclear standoff. The Italian Foreign Minister will also make a short trip to Kabul from Islamabad in the backdrop of increasing pressure on Rome from its people over Italian troops presence in Afghanistan.
