An explosion ripped through a crowded market in southern Nepal Monday injuring at least 16 people, local media reports said, according to DPA. A time bomb at a busy weekly market in Chandranighapur, about 130 kilometres south-east of the Nepalese capital Kathmandu, exploded Monday evening, sending panic though the crowd, independent Kantipur FM radio station reported. At least 16 people received shrapnel wounds and the condition of the two of the injured was critical, the radio quoted police as saying. A previously unknown group calling itself the Terai Army claimed responsibility for the blast. However, it was immediately unclear what the group's motive was for the blast.
