Jordan's lower house of parliament on Sunday passed a draft law aimed at combating money-laundering, DPA reported. The bill covers all aspects of terrorism-financing activities that are not covered by the existing Jordanian penal code, parliamentary sources said. "Such legislation has become imperative both at the domestic and international levels for addressing money-laundering operations," the law's preamble said. The draft law considers as money-laundering crimes all activities relating to trafficking in human beings, custom evasion, illegal speculation, forgery, smuggling of antiquities and encroachment on the environment, they added.
