Muhammad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa, Commander of National Guards of Bahrain, has met President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, according to an official statement. Musharraf expressed satisfaction on the strong bilateral relations with the brotherly people of Bahrain, and said the existing bilateral ties could be enriched by adding the dimension of defense cooperation. This could be achieved with frequent exchanges of defense delegations and individual visits for identifying areas of cooperation for mutual benefits, he added. Muhammad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa thanked the President for cooperation and assistance Pakistan was extending to the Gulf state in the defense field. On his part, Aziz said that Pakistan would welcome businessmen from Bahrain to invest in Pakistan which is a thriving market of 160 million people, a growing economy and open to local and foreign investors. The prime minister said it is a matter of satisfaction that, growing number of investors from the GCC states are now investing in various sectors of Pakistan's economy. He said common faith, culture and values shared by Pakistan and Bahrain have strengthened relations between the two countries and bilateral relations are characterized by complete trust, mutual understanding and unanimity of views on all issues.
