Under the patronage of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, the Directorate General of borders' guards will organize the second seminar on management of sea disasters. The seminar will be organized in Jeddah on May 19-22, 2007. Lt. General Talal Al-Anqawi, the Director General of the borders guards, said the participants of the seminar will discuss issues pertaining to the sea disasters and the role of the administration of the borders guards in the development of the management of sea disasters and the containment of the adverse impact of the sea disasters. The seminar also aims at enhancing regional and international cooperation in the management of sea disasters. A number of regional and international authorities in addition to universities, scientists, researchers, experts, academicians and engineers working in this field are scheduled to participate in the 4-day seminar. The first seminar on management of sea disasters was organized five years ago in cooperation with Saudi Aramco and King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals.
