UN Secretary-General Welcomes Arab Statement

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomed the statement made by the Arab Ministerial Committee for the Arab Peace Initiative, and looks forward to meeting them to discuss Middle East peace, said Michele Montas, UN Spokesperson.
The statement “indicates increased engagement of the League of Arab States to reinvigorate the peace process,” said Montas.
Montas said that Ban will meet with the committee on the sidelines of the Iraqi Compact meeting to be held May 3-4 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
