Secretary General of Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul-Rahman Al-Atiyyah said that the GCC participation in the intentional conference on Iraq refugees, which held last night in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ( UNHCR), comes within the framework of the GCC states' keenness on supporting the efforts that aim at lifting the plight of the Iraqi refugees. Al-Attiyah affirmed that necessity of reaching a political resolution to the Iraqi crisis as it is considered as one of the main reasons of the Iraqi civilian migration. He also lauded the efforts carried out by GCC states regarding security, stability and unity of Iraq. "GCC states will not hesitate in extending the required support to the Iraqi refugees and migrants," he added. -- SPA
