Russian Federal Agency for Nuclear Power Director Sergei Kiriyenko will discuss the cooperation of Russia and Mongolia in the peaceful use of nuclear energy during his visit to Ulan-Bator today. According to the Russian news agency Itar-Tass, the Russian official will meet Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar. Kiriyenko will also hold talks wit Prime Minister Mieegombyn Enkhbold and other members of the government. Mongolia is the last leg of Kiriyenko's tour, during which he has visited Japan to attend an annual conference of the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum. He also held talks with chiefs of ministries, departments and major private companies. A focus of his talks was on the preparation of a Russian-Japanese intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the nuclear energy sector. The agreement is to open a way for direct contacts between the two countries' companies working on the nuclear technology market. -- SPA
