Presided over by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the 5th meeting of Arab Team concerned with international environmental treaties on combating desertification and biological diversity commenced today at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo. In a statement today, Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs at the Arab League Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Tuwaijri, said that the team will discuss during three days the process of implementing a number of treaties and conventions, including the International Convention to Combat Desertification as well as the International Convention on Biological Diversity. "Arab team will also discuss the Convention on International Trade in Species Threatened with Extinction as well as other related issues", he added.
