PASSPORT GENERAL DIRECTORATE CALLED ON ALL THOSE WHO CAME TO SAUDI ARABIA FOR VISIT PURPOSES OF VARIOUS KINDS (FAMILY, COMMERCIAL, MEDICAL TREATMENT OR OTHERWISE) AND WHOSE VISAS HAVE EXPIRED TO REPORT TO THE NEAREST EXPATRIATE DEPARTMENT IN THE AREA THEY ARE IN TO SETTLE THEIR STATUSES AND THEN ALLOW THEM TO LEAVE THROUGH ANY POINT OF EXIT THEY WISH DURING A PERIOD NOT EXCEEDING TWO MONTHS AS OF 15/3/1428 H. THE PASSPORT GENERAL DIRECTORATE STRESSED THAT REGULATIONS DIDN'T PERMIT ANYONE WHO CAME ON A VISIT VISA TO STAY IN THE COUNTRY AFTER THE EXPIRY OF THE VISA. HE ALSO EXPLAINED THAT PROVISION OF HELP FOR OVERSTAYERS, BY GIVING THEM SHELTER, WORK OR TRANSPORT FROM A CITY TO ANOTHER, IS A CLEAR VIOLATION PUNISHABLE BY IMPRISONMENT FOR A PERIOD NOT EXCEEDING SIX MONTHS AND A FINE NOT LESS THAN 10,000 RIYALS. THE FINE IS MULTIPLIED BY THE NUMBER OF PERSONS INVOLVED IN THE VIOLATION.
