RIYADH: The Directorate General of Passports has called on all Haj pilgrims to leave for their countries on the date specified in their tickets and within the Haj visa validity period. In a statement issued Monday, the directorate stressed that pilgrims and Haj-related establishments must comply with the country's regulations which prohibit anyone from staying in the Kingdom with an expired visa. All violators will face stiff penalties, the statement said. The directorate also warned citizens and expatriates not to shelter, employ or transport overstayers. Such actions could result in fines, prison, or both.
