The foundation stone was laid yesterday for the Model Housing City in Sri Lanka's Ambara region, within the framework of directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The laying of foundation stone ceremony was attended by Sri Lankan Minister of Housing Feryal Ismael Ashraf and the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Mohammed bin Mahmoud Al-Ali. The city comprises 500 housing units, a mosque, a medical center and two schools, for boys and another for girls. -- SPA
