Austrian President Heinz Fischer arrived Sunday in South Korea at the start of a four-day state visit to strengthen and extend political and economical relations between the two countries. Talks with President Roh Moo Hyun on Monday kick off the official programme, according to the Austrian embassy in Seoul. Apart from bilateral relations, the agenda will also highlight the situation on the divided Korean peninsula, dpa reported. Fischer is the first Austrian head of state to visit South Korea and is accompanied by a large delegation consisting of government representatives, members of parliament, business people and academics.
