ALA ALHADEEDI, SPOKESMAN OF THE EGYPTIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY, SAID IN A PRESS STATEMENT CARRIED BY THE MIDDLE EAST NEWS AGENCY THAT EGYPT'S FOREIGN MINISTER AHMED ABUL-GHAIT HAD A MEETING WITH THE MINISTERS OF SAUDI ARABIA, UAE AND JORDAN TO COORDINATE THEIR POSITIONS BEFORE THEIR MEETING WITH RICE. THEN RICE JOINED THE MEETING TO PRESENT THE OUTLINES OF A U.S. PAPER TO BE FORWARDED TO ARAB FOREIGN MINISTERS ON WAYS TO BOOST THE PEACE PROCESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST, COOL DOWN TENSIONS IN IRAQ AND BRING ABOUT PERMANENT AND FAIR PEACE IN DARFUR OF SUDAN.
