Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs Ambassador Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Tawaijeri asserted Wednesday that the economic file of the upcoming Arab summit in Riyadh will contain a number of important issues that would strengthen the joint Arab action to establish a Free Arab Trade Zone. In a press statement today, Al-Tawaijeri said that the summit will discuss many subjects that would put forward the main framework for the joint Arab economic action as well as advance further the Arab regional development in addition to drafting a comprehensive report on establishing Arab Customs Union in pursuant of the decision of the Khartoum summit. Al-Tawaijeri also said that the Arab Leaders will discuss an item dealing with a number of proposals submitted by the specialized ministerial councils, pointing out that there is a proposal that will be discussed during the Arab summit as regards the establishment of an Arab Council for Fisheries. He also stressed the importance of studying and analyzing regional and international economic developments, noting that the final statement of the summit will include a paragraph concerning an Arab vision with regard to these developments.
