Swedish Defence Minister Mikael Odenberg and International Development Cooperation Minister Gunilla Carlsson Monday began a joint visit to Afghanistan, DPA QUOTED Swedish officials as saying. The two were slated to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, members of the government, politicians and human rights groups. They were also scheduled to visit Swedish forces in Mazar-e-Sharif as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), and review reconstruction and aid programmes supported by Sweden and the United Nations. Sweden has contributed forces to the NATO-led ISAF since 2002, and currently deploys a 365-strong force.
