Malaysia and Yemen have agreed to have a joint committee to facilitate bilateral trade and to address trade and investment issues effectively between two countries, Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said today. He said the committee to be held at the ministerial level would recommend to their respective governments measures on expansion and diversification of trade between two countries, Bernama reported. Speaking to Malaysian and Yemeni reporters at his residence hotel here, Abdullah said the committee would also monitor the activity of projects pursuant to agreements signed between the private sector of both countries. He said the committee would be chaired by the trade and industry ministers of both countries and would meet regularly, with the first meeting to be held in Malaysia. Abdullah also said that he was satisfied with the outcome of the business forum attended by Malaysian and Yemeni businessmen earlier in the day.
