Two people died and another victim was badly burned on Tuesday in a pair of Ukrainian apartment explosions linked to natural gas, dpa quoted the Interfax news agency as reporting. The twin accidents came one day after another accidental natural gas detonation killed three and left dozens homeless. One explosion happened in the town of Krasny Donets in the eastern Kharkiv region, on the fourth floor of an apartment building. The explosion, thought to have been caused by the ignition of a gas leak, killed two and damaged their residence. Other apartments in the building were not substantially damaged, according to the report. The town Debaltsevo in the industrial Donetsk province saw a similar accident, when a portable gas cannister blew up in a third-floor apartment of a residential building. One man was being treated for severe burns at a provincial hospital. Police were investigating the causes of both explosions. Early evidence indicated the unsafe use of flames near natural gas piping was the most likely cause, the report said.
