A Greek fighter jet crashed near Athens during a training flight on Tuesday, The Associated Press quoted authorities as saying. The pilot ejected safely. The French-made Mirage 2000 jet crashed shortly after taking off from the Tanagra air force base, about 70 kilometers (45 miles) northwest of Athens. The pilot reported engine trouble before ejecting, state-run NET television said.
